New Addition to AP Coaching Staff

Accelerated Prep Adds Two-Time Colorado Mr. Basketball Dom Collier to Coaching Staff

DENVER Accelerated Prep head coach has announced the recent addition of Dom Collier as assistant coach.

“This was a no brainer for us. Coach Dom is a skilled, versatile addition to our coaching staff whose wealth of talent and expertise will no doubt elevate this program,” said the head coach. “He’s a great fit for Accelerated Prep, a great fit for our staff, and a great fit for our players. We’re extremely excited to have him aboard.”

A 27-year-old Denver native, Collier enjoyed a standout high school career at Denver East High School, winning a CHSAA Class 5A state title his senior season in 2014 as well as back-to-back Mr. Colorado Basketball honors from the Denver Post, before moving on to a solid collegiate career under Tad Boyle at Colorado University.

During his time in Boulder, Collier made his mark as both a starter and key reservist, capturing Pac-12 Co-Sixth Man of the Year honors as a senior with the Buffs in 2017-18 while earning a reputation as a sharpshooter from behind the three-point line.

Shortly after graduating from CU in 2018, Collier went overseas to Germany to begin a professional career, playing with FC Schalke 04 of the German Pro A league.

After one year in Germany, Collier returned to Boulder to work in CU’s Leadership Department, before joining the staff of Uncle Blacks Sports Training in suburban Denver.

“I’m humbled and honored to be joining the staff at Accelerated Prep,” Collier said. “Coach has done a fantastic job with the team over the past year. I’m excited to be a part of such a special culture with special young men. I look forward to investing my time, energy and effort into the team and our players.”

Accelerated Prep is gearing up for its second season in The Grind Session, a winter circuit of elite high school basketball events that has produced approximately 2,000 collegiate and professional players over the past 10 years, including more than 20 NBA first-round draft picks in the past two years alone.

The 2023-2024 campaign will see Accelerated Prep compete in The Grind Session’s inaugural Power Conference, which is being touted as the largest collection of elite boys prep basketball programs from across North America. The conference will feature 12 teams from seven different states and Canada; more than 75 players ranked in the top 100 of the ’24, ’25 and ’26 classes; and players with origins from over 20 different countries.
