Accelerated Prep Sophomore Aliou Dioum Receives First D1 Offers from the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech

DENVERAccelerated Prep forward Aliou Dioum’s college recruitment is beginning to simmer.

The 6-foot-10 sophomore recently announced via his Twitter and Instagram accounts that he received his first Division I offers from the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech.

“It’s been very rewarding talking to college coaches and receiving offers,” Dioum said. “It proves that all the hard work and time that I’ve invested in basketball is paying off. I’m determined more than ever to push myself and see how far I can go.”

According to Accelerated Prep head coach, it’s only a matter of time before the simmer of interest and offers turns into a full-blown boil.

“Aliou has the skills and smarts and is going to get quicker and stronger,” coach said. “He’s the real deal.”

A native of Senegal, Dioum is in his first year with Accelerated Prep and is enjoying an impressive season with the team, averaging 13.1 points, eight rebounds, 1.6 assists, one steal, and 1.4 blocks per game. He’s shooting about 41% from the floor and nearly 80% from the free throw line.

Dioum has scored at least 20 points in two games this season, to go along with three double-doubles in seven games.
