Accelerated Prep Rising Star Aliou Dioum Lands Missouri Offer

DENVER – Accelerated Prep star Aliou Dioum, who has been turning heads across the country and making his ascension through the basketball ranks, was recently extended a scholarship offer to play for the University of Missouri Tigers.

“It’s been very rewarding talking to college coaches and receiving offers. It proves that all the hard work and time that I’ve invested in basketball is paying off,” said Dioum, who also holds offers from the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech. “I’m very excited for this offer, and extremely thankful to Coach Gates and his staff for their belief in me and my abilities.”

Originally from Senegal, the 6-foot-10 power forward came to the United States in early 2023 to pursue educational and basketball opportunities. Today, he’s considered the top player in Colorado from the 2026 class, and On3 has him ranked No. 51 overall and a top-10 player at his position.

He recently enjoyed an impressive first season with Accelerated Prep. In 16 games during the 2023-2024 season, he averaged 13.9 points, 12.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.1 blocks per game. He also shot 44.6% from the floor.

Dioum also earned several top honors from The Grind Session, the elite winter basketball circuit in which Accelerated Prep has played for the past two years. Those honors included being named to the All-Grind Session, All-Defensive, All-Underclassman, and FIBA 5 teams. He was also recognized as the Underclassman of the Year.

“Aliou’s dedication and skill on the court has rightfully earned him these exceptional acknowledgements,” said Accelerated Prep head coach David Carey. “His remarkable success is a testament to his talents and relentless work ethic. We couldn’t be prouder of him.”
